WHAT IS LA POSADA DE GUADALUPE MEN’S SHELTER?
La Posada de Guadalupe Men’s Shelter, located in Carlsbad, California, is a 24/7 shelter serving men experiencing homelessness, including farm workers and individuals with few or no resources. The program provides a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where men can find stability, dignity, and a place to begin or continue working toward their personal goals.
Beyond providing a safe place to stay, La Posada connects individuals with resources, supportive services, and guidance tailored to their needs. Through compassionate support and access to community resources, the program helps men address barriers, build greater self-sufficiency, and take meaningful steps toward long-term stability and independence.
La Posada is committed to meeting each individual with dignity and respect while providing the encouragement and support needed to move forward on a path toward a more stable future.

Additional beds at La Posada are ready to serve more men experiencing homelessness in North County. What is needed now is the funding required to open and operate those beds safely. The Lucky Duck Foundation has stepped forward to help make that possible through a matching challenge that doubles the impact of community support. Together, our goal is to raise $360,000 so that more men can move indoors, access supportive services, and begin rebuilding their lives.

Meet the Men Finding Their Way Forward
George spent much of his life devoted to his twin daughters, Sarah and Micah. He coached their sports teams, took them camping, explored the ocean with them, and watched proudly as they grew into adults and began lives of their own.
Years later, an unimaginable loss changed the course of George’s life.
Grieving and struggling to regain stability, George eventually found himself without a home. When he arrived at La Posada de Guadalupe, he was soaked, exhausted, and ready to accept help.
With a safe place to sleep, a warm shower, clean clothes, and the support of Catholic Charities staff, George finally had the space to grieve, heal, and begin rebuilding his life.
Today, he carries a reminder of his daughter with him everywhere he goes—and continues working toward a stable, self-sufficient future.
