Community Services Volunteer Opportunities

CCDSD provides basic needs assistance to vulnerable members of our community. Help us to solve food insecurity by volunteering at one of several food distribution sites, provide benefits referrals and advocate for those in need at our Food resource Centers, or help educate others on healthy living.

 

SHOPPORTUNITY STOCK ASSISTANT

We are looking for volunteers at our Shopportunity Thrift Store to help in receiving and stocking donations. All merchandise is donated and the sales proceeds help support the Food Resource Center to provide food for those experiencing food insecurity. Join in our mission by serving in this much needed position! Volunteer hours flexible.

VISTA FOOD RESOURCE CENTER INTAKE ASSISTANT

Assist with access to Cal Fresh resources and ensure all members of the community are able to feed their families. Opportunity also available in Imperial Valley.

COMMUNITY FOOD DISTRIBUTION DRIVER

Use your wheels to help solve food insecurity. Volunteers with larger vehicles are needed to transport food goods to Catholic Charities’ distribution sites throughout San Diego and Imperial County

VISTA FOOD RESOURCE CENTER DISTRIBUTION ASSISTANT

Allow those facing food insecurity in North County San Diego to live with dignity. Assist with packing and distributing food to ensure all members of the community are able to feed their families.  Opportunity also available in Imperial Valley.

MONTHLY EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE DELIVERY

Once a month, on the Wednesday after the third Tuesday, 9:00- 11:00 am, Catholic Charities Vista Food Resource Center receives approximately 13,000 pounds of dry and canned food from the USDA’s Emergency Food Assistance Program.  We are looking for volunteers to help us unload the inventory and move it inside our warehouse. This is a great opportunity to spend a few hours making a huge difference for your neighbors in need. 

LISTOS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS VOLUNTEER

Promotion of California For all Public Outreach and Education campaign through provision of Emergency Preparedness training and resources and diverse the vulnerable Populations in San Diego & Imperial Counties.
